Which Thumb Drive Version Do You Have?
Please look at the USB connector on the thumb drive and match it to one of the three versions pictured here. Notice Version A bares the AF marking and Version B bares the AFE marking while Version C bares no marking. Once you determine your thumb drive version, choose from the appropriate selections below.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Locate and double-click the “Store-Lock Rev A.exe” file.
- The “Welcome” screen appears; click “Next”.
- The “User Information” screen appears, enter your information and click “Next”.
- The software completes the install process, click “Finish”.
IMPORTANT: Preparing your thumb drive with the security software will delete all data present on the drive. If you have data on the drive that you wish to keep, please remove this data from the drive prior to preparing the drive with the security software.
USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
- Connect your thumb drive to an available USB port on your computer.
- Locate and double-click the “Store-Lock Software” shortcut on your desktop to launch the software.
- The main screen appears. To begin, you must format your Store-It Thumb Drive. Click the “Format Button” to start the format process.
- The “Format” window appears. To use your thumb drive without password protection, simply choose “Normal Disk” and click “OK”. To use your thumb drive with password protection, first check the “Secure Disk” radio button, then use the capacity slider bar at the top of the window to specify the amount of space you would like to allocate to the public (not password protected) and private (password protected) areas. Once complete, enter a password in the “Password” field and confirm the password in the “Confirm Psw” field. Click “OK” to proceed.
- A progress bar appears indicating the format progress.
- Once the format is complete, the “Format Complete” dialog appears. Click “Finish”.
- Now, disconnect and reconnect the thumb drive to reset the device.
LOGGING INTO YOUR PASSWORD PROTECTED AREA
- If you have not already done so, connect your thumb drive to an available USB port on your computer.
- Depending on your operating system, a window or two may appear. Close any open windows.
- Next, open “My Computer” and locate the “Removable Disk” icon. Please note that if you chose to have both a public and a private storage area on your thumb drive (refer to step 4 above), you may have two “Removable Disk” icons.
- Double-click the “Removable Disk” icon to display it’s contents. Double-click the “Login” icon to log into your password protected area.
- Enter the password in the provided field and click “Login” to complete the login process.
- Now, you will see the contents of your thumb drive. If the window simply closes and you don’t see the contents of the secure area, simply open “My Computer” and double-click the “Removable Disk” icon again. You may add data as you desire to the password protected area. Once the thumb drive is disconnected from the system, you will be logged out and will need to login again to view your files. This password protects your files and keeps them safe from prying eyes.

- The main screen appears. To begin, click the “Settings” button.
- The “Settings” window appears. From the “Type” drop-down menu, choose how you would like to format your Store-It Drive. The options include: Normal Disk, Security Disk, and Bootable Disk.
Normal Disk: Formatting your thumb drive as a Normal Disk simply formats the thumb drive erasing all of the existing data on the drive. Once formatted, the thumb drive is ready for use. Security Disk: Formatting your thumb drive as a Security Disk allows you to password protect as well as specify the amount of space to be used for the password protected area. For example, if you are using a 1GB thumb drive, the software will allow you partition the thumb drive into two sections. The secure, password protected area could be set to 400MB and the public are would use the remaining storage space. You may also choose to format the entire drive as password protected storage. Once formatted, in order to use the password protected storage area, a login password is needed. Boot Disk: Formatting your thumb drive as a boot disk formats the drive and also copies necessary files to make the thumb drive bootable. In order to boot your computer from the thumb drive, your computer must support booting from USB devices. Once formatted the thumb drive is ready for use, but will also contain the files needed for booting the computer from the drive. Be careful not to delete of modify these files if you intend on booting from the thumb drive. - Once you have chosen the format type, click the “OK” button. If you have chosen to format your thumb drive as a security drive, you will need to enter a password in the first “Password” field and again in the second “Password” field. You may use the slide bar to specify the amount of space to be allocated to your password protected (secured) storage area. When using the slide bar, “˜Part 1” represents the password protected (secured) area and “Part 2” represents the public area. Sliding the slider all the way to the right allocates the entire capacity of the thumb drive to password protected space.
- In the main window, click the “Format” button to commence formatting.
- A progress bar appears indicating the format progress.
- Once the format is complete, the “Format Complete”¦” dialog appears. Click “OK”.
- Now, disconnect and reconnect the thumb drive to reset the device.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
- Connect your thumb drive to an available USB port on your computer.
- Locate and double-click the “thumbdrivesoftware_revc.exe” file you downloaded from the Pexagon website.
- The main screen appears. In the “Feature Selection” area, select either “Basic” to format your thumb drive as a basic storage device with no password protection or “Security” to format and password protect your thumb drive. When selecting the “Security” option, it is required that you provide a password in the “password” filed and also confirm the password by reentering it in the “confirm” field.
Using the slider bar it is possible to partition your thumb drive into two partitions. Both partitions can be either “Basic” or “Security” type partitions. Use the slider bar to determine the size of each partition. The size in megabytes is displayed above the disk label at either end of the slider bar. When creating two partitions one “Basic” and one “Security”, choose the respective option below the headings ‘Disk 1” and Disk 2”. It is required that you specify and confirm a password for the “Security” partition. When creating two partitions, both “Security”, choose “Security” under both “Disk 1” and “Disk 2” headings! Specify and confirm a password for both partitions. When entering the passwords, switch between “Disk 1” and “Disk 2” by choosing the respective radio button. NOTE: You may also format the thumb drive as a bootable device using either of the “Bootup” format options. Your computer’s BIOS will need to support USB boot in order for the thumb drive to be bootable. - Click “Start” to commence formatting.
- A progress bar appears indicating the format progress. This may take up to several minutes to complete.
- Once the format is complete, a dialog appears. Click “OK” and close the software.
- In the lower-right hand corner of your desktop you will notice a small “green and red” icon next to the system clock. Right-click this “User Utility Pack” icon and choose “Exit” from the pop-up menu. Confirm that you would like to exit by clicking “Yes”
- Now, disconnect and reconnect the thumb drive to reset the device.
LOGGING INTO YOUR PASSWORD PROTECTED AREA
NOTE: The password protection software is not needed to log into the password protected area of your thumb drive. If the thumb drive was prepared for password protection, when connected to a USB enabled PC, you may log into the password protected area using the instructions below.

- The contents of the thumb drive should appear on-screen. If for some reason you don’t see the contents of your thumb drive’s password protected area, simply open “My Computer” and double-click the “Removable Disk” icon again. You may add data as you desire to the password protected area. Once the thumb drive is disconnected from the system, you will be logged out and will need to login again to view your files. This password protects your files and keeps them safe from prying eyes.
