Photoflashdrive.com by Pexagon Technology Introduces NFC PhotoTags Key Chains and Photo Stickers Enable Instant Web Access
Branford, CT – 10/25/2012 - Pexagon Technology, the company behind PhotoFlashDrive.com is presenting a new and practical way for businesses to connect their customers and prospects to the web. With an eye to the photo market, the company has dubbed this new product line NFC PhotoTags. The key chain version looks like a standard issue promotional key fob, but inside each unit is an NFC device that will take NFC-ready users to a website URL programmed on the tag. The photo sticker version is a 2.25 inch round sticker that can be printed with a studio logo and individually programmed with unique or personal URLs.
Pexagon is using a key chain version as its booth take away item at the 2012 PhotoPlus Expo in NYC. One side of their PhotoTag key chain has the PhotoFlashDrive.com logo and URL reminding its holder to head to the website with simple keystrokes. The other side has a QR Code for those who prefer to scan and surf. In addition, for those who are NFC ready, the inside of the key chain contains an NFC tag which sends the user directly to the site when “touched” or “tapped” with an NFC enabled device. All three options, the printed URL, the QR Code, and the NFC tag take the users to a landing page where they may enter to win $2400.00 in PhotoFlashDrive.com custom products before shopping the web store.
“We have been watching the development of NFC for some time and looking for ways to implement the technology”, commented Brian Campbell, President of Pexagon. “Giving an end user the option to type (traditional URL), scan (QR Code), or 'NFC touch' in one promotional product is both practical and cool, and a cost-effective give-away product, useful for marketing to new prospects or existing customers, that will increase the odds of audience engagement”.
Near field communication (NFC) is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity, usually no more than a few centimeters. Present and anticipated applications include contactless transactions, data exchange, and simplified setup of more complex communications such as Wi-Fi communication is also possible between an NFC device and an unpowered NFC chip, called a "tag".
Pexagon’s NFC PhotoTags will be available on Pexagon’s www.photoflashdrive.com website by the end of November. The key chain version will list at $3.00 each (or $2.25 after pro photographer's discount) when buying 100 units, inclusive of set-up fees. The stand alone photo sticker version will list at $2.00 each (or $1.50 after pro photographer discount) when buying 100 units.
